25 Jul Welcome to the Transformation Engineers’ Advisory Board, dear Dirk Brockmann!
Prof. Dr. Dirk Brockmann is a professor at the Institute of Biology at Berlin’s Humboldt University, a scientist at the Robert-Koch-Institut and head of the Research on Complex Systems Group. After studying theoretical physics and mathematics he became interested in complex phenomena outside the traditional boundaries of physics. He is particularly interested in structures and processes in complex biological and social networks.
The Transformation Engineers came into contact with Dirk’s work in December 2021. As a Christmas present our CEO Christoph Wargitsch gave all employees a copy of his book “Im Wald vor lauter Bäumen: Unsere komplexe Welt besser verstehen”. Only four months later he impressed and inspired us as a speaker at our second Transformation Talk (“It’s a small world. About the power of Connectivity.”). In July he attended his first Think-Tank-Session of our Advisory Board contemplating innovation through natural processes for the field of New Work.
We feel very honored to have Dirk join our advisory board und are looking forward to collaborating with him in person! Dirk brings outstanding qualities as a transdisciplinary thinker, a complexity scientist and passionate educator of talent, which will enable a valuable exchange and enrich our work.
