Challenges
For many companies, the transition to SAP S/4HANA is a significant step in their digital transformation – but it often comes with major challenges.
The change requires not only a technological transition, but also a profound change in business processes. Companies must replace their existing ERP systems while ensuring that business operations are not disrupted.
Migration and validating large amounts of data in the target system, adapting processes to the new S/4HANA standards, and training employees must also be successful.
A lack of expertise or unclear strategies can quickly lead to project delays and additional costs. Careful planning and experienced support are therefore essential for a successful S/4HANA transformation.
Solutions
By transforming to S/4HANA, companies can optimize their business processes, increase efficiency, and achieve greater flexibility. The benefits of the changeover also include faster data processing, integrated analytics, and the ability to make business decisions based on up-to-date information.
The successful implementation of such a transformation project depends on a clearly defined strategy, careful selection and involvement of experienced partners, and structured and goal-oriented project management.

What does a proof of concept for an SAP S/4HANA transformation project look like?
Overview
PoC project: Phases & success factors
We provide operational and strategic support throughout all phases of a PoC project. With our comprehensive SAP S/4HANA expertise and end-to-end project management, we focus on the solutions and approaches that will really move your business forward. A PoC project can usually be divided into three phases:
Phase 1: Kick-off and definition of the proof of concept
In this phase, we work with you (including in workshops) to evaluate expectations and define objectives. The project team gets to know each other and we define roles and responsibilities as well as methods and procedures for the project. Processes and data are then selected for the PoC, along with demo scenarios.
Phase 2: The second phase is characterized by technical and user-focused aspects: We set up the test system, activate the scope items and product types, and migrate and test the demo data. We also focus on designing and delivering tailored training for users and plan the 90-day demo that follows this phase.
Phase 3: The third phase of a PoC project starts with the go-live of the demo version and focuses on carrying out the proof of concept with users. We answer process- and/or system-related questions and continuously document lessons learned. We then make any necessary system adjustments and prepare the next steps following the PoC project. For example, we develop a rollout strategy and plan or prepare an architecture hypothesis.
Added value for our customers
A PoC project makes it possible to test not only the technology but also the strategic approach of a transformation project before a major investment decision is made. During the proof of concept project, aspects such as technical and/or process challenges, user feedback, and acceptance within the organization can be evaluated and assessed.
For a successful transformation, it is particularly important to address the different needs of the relevant stakeholders in a targeted manner, promote innovation, and find an approach that optimally addresses the various challenges. A PoC creates the basis for this, delivers concrete results, and facilitates the planning and implementation of a technology rollout.
